We visited my home town for the bank holiday, its always nice to catch up with friends, spend time with family and probably most enjoyably this time it coincided with the bi-monthly Cats Pyjamas Burlesque Show. I used to stage manage for the troupe, and miss them all dearly, so when we get the chance to go its always a complete pleasure.
I ordered this little number from ASOS, with trepidation it has to be said, I have not had the best buying experience with Curve range.
I've found sizing to be inconsistent and the garments haven't always lived up to the image on the website. There's been much talk of late in the plus size blogosphere about this very issue and I think the plus size community are in agreement that in essence the range is amazing, but when the product arrives it doesn't always live up to expectations.
I am afraid to say this dress was no exception. The sizing was pretty true to size, I ordered the 22UK which I found pretty true, but I was a little disappointed at the quality, the dress is a pretty thin jersey I was expecting something maybe a bit thicker, for something that proclaims to be "body con" I thought it would hug the figure a bit more it just kind of clung instead. This is probably just my issue or understanding of the "body con" dress trend.

I've banged on about it before, but I was worried how I would make the short do work for vintage, I'm still working on it but I think the side roll and hair piece worked ok, and I think in fear of it not looking right I felt the need to wear red lipstick... I never wear red lipstick! I was a bit nervous but the lovely folk of twitter encouraged me with their kind comments! Thanks guys!!
